Al Pulford Collection

Al has been a professional photographer for over ten years. His interest in photography started in the early 1980’s whilst travelling the UK rail system. He has had images published in all the main Railway magazines, including several front covers and commissions for features. He also regularly shoots gigs and Festivals, having been published in most of the UK’s music publications from 1999. He has been a photographer with Terrorizer magazine since 2004, and is the official photographer for the Waterfront venue in Norwich. Al is also a freelance for the Diss Express paper, covering editorial and sporting events. Events, weddings, portraits and commercial work also keep Al busy.

Ian Simpson Collection

Ian has been a railway enthusiast for nearly 40 years, growing up in East Anglia amongst the Class 31s, 37s and 47s of March and Stratford depots. Using his father’s Pentax SLR his early attempts at photography were hit and miss, although his Dad’s were a little better. After a decade of not taking photographs, his interest was resurrected in early 1990s, and more recently with the advent of digital SLRs his enthusiasm for photography and railways has blossomed once more.

Of course digital photography is not just about taking pictures, and Ian is using his knowledge of computing to bring the slides taken by our photographers to life using Photoshop. Every effort is made to keep the originality of the picture, and is most cases the work involves reversing the ageing process of slides and negatives.
